It was on a Thursday and by MONDAY the Head Jailor AND the Superintendent of the prison had BEEN REPLACED! As, I believe, had a couple of lesser jailors.

So this account is faulty. Not that Negombo Prison is a stellar example of how prisons should be. There are LOTS of problems there, but, the record should show that the system did discipline the guys in charge. (of course it was probably much lower level thugs who were responsible, and they are probably still there).
